I am an ancient historian working at the History Department of Leiden University. I am, and that won’t come as a surprize, interested in all aspects of the ancient world. But there are lots of other things that interest me as well (and thus I’ll never be a specialist and have lost my chance of becoming a famous scholar — did I ever want to be one? Cannot remember, really. I always wanted to enjoy myself while doing something reasonably worthwhile).
